Premier League heavyweight Manchester United have now made it official that their star defender Matteo Darmian has left the club to join Serie A side Parma.
United confirmed the news via Twitter, where they confirmed Darmian’s transfer to Parma “on a permanent deal.”
“Manchester United can confirm that defender Matteo Darmian has signed for Italian side Parma,” the club’s official statement read.
“Everyone at Manchester United would like to thank Matteo for his service and wish him all the best for the future,” the statement added.
The 29-year-old defender joined United from Torino in 2015 for a reported transfer fee amounting to €18million. Since then he has featured for the club on 92 occasions across all the competitions. Given that he is a defender, his solitary goal for Manchester United came in 2016 against Crystal Palace. He was involved in four assists during his stint with Manchester United.
As per reports in Transfermarkt, the transfer was completed for a reported fee of €1.5million.
