With Claudio Bravo potentially out for the season, Manchester City have been forced to cut short teenaged goalkeeper Aro Muric’s loan at Eredivisie club NAC Breda.

“Aro Muric has returned to City from NAC Breda,” the club stated.

Bravo, backup to Ederson, ruptured his Achilles on Monday and the belief at the club is that the former Barcelona shot-stopper will miss a major chunk of the 2017/18 season at the very least.

“The former Swiss youth international had joined the Dutch side on a season-long loan but following Claudio Bravo’s Achilles tendon injury in training earlier this week, the Blues received permission to recall the 19-year-old goalkeeper.”

Jasper Cillessen was linked with a move to City, but with Muric getting recalled, any potential move for the Barcelona custodian has been killed off.

“Muric will return to Manchester tomorrow and will be available to train ahead of this weekend’s trip to face Wolves.”

The untested Daniel Grimshaw was the only backup available to Pep Guardiola and that’s why the Sky Blues were forced to

With the transfer window for Premier League clubs shut, City can only sell players now. They can still make signings, but only on free transfers.

Muric is not set to see much first-team action as he will remain Ederson’s understudy for the 2018/19 season.
