Recent reports from Spain suggest that Barcelona superstar forward Lionel Messi has threatened to depart from the club after the season ends. This is because the Argentine is reportedly disappointed with his club.

According to the Spanish media outlet, Diario Gol, there are a couple of reasons why Messi is not happy with his club. The first reason is that he genuinely feels Barca did not do enough to try and sign Neymar.

It is a widely reported fact that Neymar was keen on joining Barcelona. Neymar even requested his club President Nasser Al Khelaifi to allow him to play for Barca but the deal could not materialise until the transfer deadline with rival team Real Madrid also joining the race to draft in Neymar as Barca did not agree to the terms and conditions of the deal proposed by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The other reason for Messi threatening to leave the club is because he is disappointed with the quality of the team at the moment. They have not been able to clinch wins in as many matches as they would have liked and are thus reeling at the eight spot with only two wins in five matches.

According to the report carried by Diario Gol, Messi is also not too impressed with manager Ernesto Valverde’s decisions. He is also thinking that his stint with Barca may prevent him from winning another Champions League or Ballon d’Or.

It is because of these reasons that Messi has reportedly threatened the team management to leave the club if they do not pull things back in the ongoing season.
