While most of football’s top superstars are enjoying their well-earned holidays with trips to exotic beaches, Leicester City’s Algerian midfielder Riyad Mahrez is busy offering prayers in the holy city of Mecca.

The 26-year-old winger, who has reportedly requested a move away from Leicester this summer, uploaded a selfie of himself on Facebook overlooking the iconic Kaaba building in Mecca with a caption titled “Mecca”, on Wednesday.

The holy month of Ramadan began on Friday, 26 May, and ends on Saturday, 24 June.

Mahrez, was voted as the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year in 2016 after his superb displays led Leicester to an incredible English Premier League title in the 2015-16 season.

While last season saw the Foxes and Mahrez struggle, the African winger remains a hot-commodity and the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea are said to be interested in signing the £30 million-rated Mahrez.
