La Liga giants and leaders at the points tally this season so far Barcelona conceded as many as three goals within seven minutes in the second half as Levante registered a phenomenal come back from behind win to defeat Ernesto Valverde’s men and clinch three points.

Barcelona had scored the opening goal of the match, thanks to Lionel Messi’s 38th-minute penalty kick after Jorge Miramon fouled Nelson Semedo.

Jose Campana then netted home the equaliser for Levante after at the 60 minutes mark. Borja Mayoral and Nemanja Radoja later chipped in with a goal each in quick time to stage a remarkable turnaround.

Later, Lionel Messi seemed to have scored a solo goal but the Video Assistant Referee indicated Antoine Griezmann had strayed offside in the build-up to what would otherwise have been a superb effort.

However, even though Barcelona experienced their third defeat of the season in 11 matches, Real Madrid failed to make use of the opportunity to get to the top of the table as they played a goalless draw against Real Betis in their home match.

Eden Hazard appeared to have scored for Real Madrid in the first half but the goal was declared as an offside.

Betis goalie Joel Robles then produced fine saves from Vinicius Junior and Sergio Ramos as Real Betis curtailed the hosts to a draw. After the draw, Real Madrid moved level on points with leaders Barcelona.

Although Zidane’s players had scored 22 shots on goal, they failed to get off the mark in the all-important goal’s tally. In other matches of the day, Valencia defeated Espanyol 2-1 and Sevilla and Atletico Madrid produced a goalless draw.
