Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav has become a major weapon in skipper Virat Kohli’s armoury in limited-overs cricket, showing immense potential in just a short period of time.

Yadav, who made his debut in June 2017 against the West Indies in Trinidad, is on the verge of creating another record. With 96 wickets in 53 ODIs, the 24-year-old is just four short of the 100-wicket milestone.

If he manages to pick up 4 wickets in the third ODI against the West Indies on Wednesday, he will also become the fastest Indian to achieve the feat, bettering the record of seamer Mohammed Shami, who took 56 ODIs to touch the three-digit mark.

Kuldeep’s best bowling figure in ODIs is 6 for 25. His reason to success has been his quality of picking up wickets which has given India the edge in the middle overs.

It is to note that Kuldeep, along with Yuzvendra Chahal has been instrumental helping Virat Kohli’s team become one of the most consistent and efficient units in the history of the 50-over format.

India currently lead the three-match rubber 1-0 with the first game being washed out.

However, India’s No. 4 woe in ODIs still continues to haunt as young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been failing continuously to cash in the opportunity.
