Recalling the 26 July 1999 win of the Indian Army over Pakistan, the sports fraternity remembered the martyred soldiers and bowed down to their contribution of making the Kargil war successful.
Notably, the Indian armed forces defeated Pakistan on 26 July 1999. Since then, the day is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas.
India skipper Virat Kohli took to Twitter to spill his emotions out for the brave Indian soldiers.

Former India cricketer and East Delhi MP Gautam Gambhir wrote the first paragraph of the song “Ae mere watan ke logon” to salute the Kargil martyrs.
