Liverpool have no fresh injury concerns ahead of Sunday’s showdown with Chelsea, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed even as he added that Emre Can and Joe Gomez are still someway off a first-team return.

“We are in contact with Emre. An important day is next Monday and then we can make the decision if he starts training with us or not immediately,” Klopp told his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Liverpool have three games left in their season, with the tie against the Blues at Stamford Bridge promising to be a cracking one.

The Reds’ final Premier League game of the season will be at home against Brighton & Hove Albion on May 13 before they turn their attentions towards the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid (May 26).

“It would only be good news for the final, probably not for the last game of the season,” the German tactician added.

Liverpool are dealing with a bit of a injury crisis in midfield as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has already been ruled out of the season with a knee complaint

Adam Lallana has recently returned to training, but is still not ready to start a game, leaving Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and James Milner the only fit midfielders at Klopp’s disposal.

“Joe (Gomez) is still waiting for final assessment and stuff like that so we can really figure out what it is exactly. We will know about it in a few days probably, but he is not available for Chelsea,” the Liverpool manager stated on the defender’s return.
