Jasprit Bumrah, team India’s spearhead is back with the team as he is included in the ODI squad against Sri Lanka. The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Tuesday in a statement announced the inclusion of star Indian pacer into the Indian squad.
Bumrah has been out of action since September 2022 after he suffered a back injury. He was later ruled out from the T20 World Cup citing the injury concerns. The right arm pacer has been undergoing rehabilitation and is recovering from his injury.
The BCCI, in a release, announced that he has been declared fit by the National Rehabilitation Centre (NCA) and he will be joining the Indian ODI squad soon.
The release also included a list of updated squad which includes Bumrah.
India’s updated squad for Sri Lanka ODIs: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya (VC), Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh.
Team India is all set to lock horns with Sri Lanka in a 3 match ODI and T20i series at home. The first T20i match of the series will commence on Wednesday at the Wankhede Stadium. Also, the ODI series will begin from 10TH Jan and the first match will be played at Guwahati.
