Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) kept their slim hope alive to qualify for the knockout stage of Indian Premier League (IPL) by thrashing Ravichandran Ashwin’s Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets on Monday at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore, in the 48th match of the league.

Here is the stats review of the Monday’s match:

1- Virat Kohli’s squad bundled up Kings XI Punjab at the score of 88, it the second-lowest total in the ongoing season of IPL. The first spot is reserved by Mumbai Indians. MI was reduced at the score of 87 against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede.

2- KXIP’s 88 for 10 on Monday was also the lowest total in IPL matches at Indore. It was also Punjab’s joint-second lowest total in IPL ever.

3- On Tuesday, three Punjab batsmen were sent back due to runouts – the most any side in this edition in a single match.

4- Umesh Yadav was picked Man of the Match for his 3/23, he had identical figure when Punjab and RCB had met at Bengaluru earlier in IPL 2018. Even then Umesh was Man of the Match.

5- RCB skipper Virat Kohli and wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel put up 92-run partnership from Bangalore on Tuesday – their highest in IPL 2018. It was also highest opening partnership against Punjab in the ongoing season.

6- On Monday, Virat Kohli reached the mark of 500 runs in IPL 2018. Five times Virat has scored 500 or more runs in a single edition of the IPL. Banned Australian cricketer David Warner has also achieved this feat four times.

7- In IPL Virat Kohli has scored 3,530 runs as the skipper of RCB – second highest by a captain in the league. The first spot in this list is reserved by MS Dhoni, who has scored 3,683 while leading a side. Former Delhi Daredevils skipper Gautam Gambhir has scored 3,518 runs as captain.

8- On Monday, RCB thrashed Punjab by 10 wickets – the first 10-wicket victory in IPL 2018.

9- Three times RCB have registered a 10 wicket win – most by any IPL club.

10- Punjab has lost only one game in their first six games and in next six matches, they have won only one match.
