In the 45th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore outplayed Shreyas Iyer’s Delhi Daredevils to keep their playoff hope alive, at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi, on Saturday.

Here is the stats review of the match:

1- Sandeep Lamichhane made his IPL debut on Saturday and became the first-ever player from Nepal to appear in the cash-rich league.

2- In IPL 2018, young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has scored 582 runs so far and he is the first Delhi Daredevils player to score more than 550 runs in a single season. In IPL 2008, veteran Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir had scored 534 runs.

3- Delhi batsman Abhishek Sharma scored 46 runs (unbeaten) in his debut match for Delhi – the highest by a player aged 18 or less in the IPL. The previous record was held by RCB’s Sarfaraz Khan. Khan had made 45* for Bangalore against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2015.

4- Abhishek scored 46 runs with a strike rate of 242.11 – the highest for any player, who had scored 25 or more runs on debut.

5- On Saturday, Virat Kohli scored fifty in just 26 balls – his joint-fastest in the league. Virat had also scored a 26-ball fifty against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Bengaluru earlier in the ongoing season.

6- So far, In IPL Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have put up the 8-century stand for RCB, which place them at the second slot. The first slot is reserved by Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli, the duo has 9-century stands to their name.

7- In the IPL, AB de Villiers have won Man of the Match (MOM) award 17 times – second most by a player. West Indies batsman Chris Gayle has won 20 awards.
