KL Rahul took only fourteen bowls to reach the landmark of fifty runs and by doing so he had become the quickest to achieve this feat. The second fastest fifty was scored by Kolkata Knight Riders’ Sunil Narine in 15 balls against Royal Challenger Bangalore in 2017, a record that he shares with Yusuf Pathan. The third fastest fifty was scored by Chennai Super Kings southpaw Suresh Raina, who scored his fifty in 16 balls against Kings XI Punjab in 2014.

In the second match of the IPL, R Ashwin-led Kings XI Punjab began their campaign against DD with a home game.

Earlier, after winning the toss, R Ashwin opted to field first.

Batting first, riding on Gautam Gambhir’s quick-fire fifty, Delhi Daredevils scored 166 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs.

Notably, Kings XI Punjab had scored 121 runs for three wickets in 13 overs till the filing of this story.
