Wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel, who replaced injured Wriddhiman Saha in India’s playing eleven in the second Test match of three-match series against South Africa at SuperSport Park in Centurion, was roasted by Twitteratis after dropping the catch of Dean Elgar.

In the 25th over of South Africa’s second inning on third day, Patel dropped Elgar at the score of 33 and received much flak from the fans and critics.

Later, the ball crossed the boundary line through the gap between Patel and Cheteshwar Pujara who was standing at first slip. After dropping the catch, Patel was seen giving a death stare to Pujara as if to say it was his catch and the Twitter users fumed over the lost opportunity.

“See this and see today’s. @parthiv9 pointed out “his” simple catch to the first slip’s catch. Sad. #INDvSA #SAvIND #FreedomSeries #Day3,” wrote a fan on Twitter.

” An injured Saha or a retired Dhoni can do better than a fit & fine Parthiv Patel. #SAvInd,” another Tweet from a fan read.
