Former England skipper Michael Vaughan feels the troubled Australian team will clinch the ongoing four-match Test series being played between India and Australia in Down Under.

Vaughan, who has been a part of the commentary team of the Test series, further identified the biggest threat for India. The 44-year-old veteran English cricketer feels off-spinner Nathan Lyon will be the difference between the two sides.

Nathan Lyon was awarded the player of the match for the second Test in Perth that Australia won by a massive 146-runs and in the process levelled the series 1-1.

In Perth Test, Lyon picked eight wickets (both innings combined) including that of Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his deputy Ajinkya Rahane.

Michael Vaughan took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to predict the result of the Test series. He tweeted, “Final thought as I leave Aussie … Australia will Win the series … Lyon is going to prove to be the difference … #AUSvIND … Anyway back to the cold … See you all down under in early jan @FoxCricket.”

Even former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has also said that the visiting team needs a better plan to counter Nathan Lyon. “They have shown him too much respect by defending a lot of deliveries outside the off-stump. Instead, I feel they should attack him more and look to build towards at least a total in excess of 300-350,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by India TV.

Speaking at the end of the second Test match, Australia batsman Travis Head also heaped praises on Nathan Lyon.

“He got Rahane, he got Virat out – he is just getting big wickets and that’s what you want from the best spinner in the world,” Travis Head had said.

So far, Virat Kohli has been dismissed seven times by Nathan Lyon. It is also the highest number of times a bowler has dismissed the Indian captain.
