IND vs AFG Test, 1st Day: Murali Vijay scores century

Rain stopped the play again on the 1st day of one-off Test match between India and Afghanistan on Thursday (14th June) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru when India was batting at 264 for 1.

Earlier, it was forecasted that rain can be play the spoilsport. Groundsmen have covered the square and players have run off the field.

 

The Indian scoreboard read 264 runs of one wickets in 48.4 overs. Opener Murali Vijay (99 runs off 142 balls) and KL Rahul (44 runs off 55 balls) are at the crease and they will took charge of Indian innings once the game will resume.

Earlier in the day, after winning the toss, standby India skipper Ajinkya Rahane opted to bat first.

Dhawan and Murali Vijay opened Indian innings and gave India a decent start by stitching up 158 runs in 27 overs till the lunch break.

After lunch, Dhawan and Vijay resumed Indian innings. Shikhar was removed by Yamin Ahmadzai in the second over of the second session of the match.

Following Dhawan’s dismissal, KL Rahul joined Vijay at the crease and added 96 runs.
