International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday suspended Team India’s middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu from bowling in international cricket.
Ambati Rayudu was asked by ICC to get his bowling action tested after he was reported for a suspected action during the first One Day International match of the three-match ODI series against Australia on January 13, 2019, at the Sydney Cricket ground (SCG). However, Rayudu did not appear to get his bowling action tested within 14 days of being reported. That’s why, as per Clause 4.2 of the ICC regulations, he has been suspended from bowling in international cricket with immediate effect.

The suspension on Rayudu will remain in place until he is tested, and can demonstrate he is able to bowl with a legal action.
Meanwhile, according to Article 11.5 of the Regulations and with the consent of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rayudu may be allowed to bowl in domestic cricket events played under the auspices of the BCCI.
