If reports from certain sections of the media are to be believed, Fabian Ruiz has apparently agreed to move to Real Madrid in summer 2020. Despite Barcelona being interested in roping in the Napoli star, Fabian Ruiz has decided to betray them and move to their arch-rivals instead.

According to a media report carried by Don Balon, a Spanish media outlet, Ruiz seemed interested in the offer made to him by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, although it was the Barca side which had approached him earlier.

The report adds that Perez had promised the Spaniard more salary and assured that he will be a regular starter in the Los Blancos squad. The same was not guaranteed by Barcelona as they already have a few capable midfield options in their team- the likes of Carles Alena, Ivan Rakitic, Arthur, Frenkie de Jong, Arturo Vidal to name a few. With such an immense competition already, the Catalan giants could not have guaranteed Ruiz a position in the starting XI.

The report further adds that Jose Angel Sanchez, the managing director of Real Madrid has already started negotiations with Aurelio De Laurentiis, the Napoli president, to try and draft the 23-year-old in their team. The talks have reportedly reached an advanced stage and the current European champions are hopeful of having the youngster by next summer, prior to the 2020 Euro Cup.

The former Real Betis star is valued at an estimated €80million, as confirmed by Don Balon.
