On Tuesday evening as India snatched the victory from the hands of the visitors. Amid the match, there was an instance where a verbal exchange between umpire and Deepak Hooda was witnessed. He lost his cool in the 18th over of the match when umpires called a ball as legal. Hooda thought it to be a wide.

The 5th ball of the over bowled by Kasun Rajitha was left to go off by Hooda but the umpire did not signal it to be a wide.

This did not go well with Hooda as he was seen disappointed by Umpires’ decision on the field. Later, when he took a signal and exchanged the strike, he went on to the other end and engaged in a brief verbal exchange with the umpire as well.

Previously, Hooda did a splendid job in the match as he smashed 41 runs off just 23 balls that included a boundary and 4 maximums. Hooda returned unbeaten and was also adjourned as the Man of the Match.

Playing first, team India lost early wickets but later Deepak Hooda and Axar Patel (31) set up a 63 runs partnership that helped the team to put forth a total of 162/5 runs in front of the visitors.

Chasing a target of 163 runs, Sri Lanka kept on losing wickets from time to time and later it was on to the final over when 12 runs were needed of 6 balls. Axar Patel was handed over the ball who bowled brilliantly and didn’t seed off many runs. Thus, the hosts won it by 2 runs and also led the 3 match t20i series by 1-0.
