Ace Indian shooter Heena Sidhu won the Gold medal after defeating Australia’s Elena Galiabovitch in the final round of the women’s 25m Pistol on the 6th day of the 21st Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old shot a final score of 38, two of them perfect fives, to claim the top medal.
The Indian medal tally has gone up to 20 medals with 11 Gold, 4 Silver and 5 Bronze.
India’s Annu Singh had finished sixth in the same event.
With her victory in the 25m event, Heena has now got two medals to her name in the 21st CWG as she had earlier secured silver in women’s 10 air pistol with an aggregate of 234.
Earlier in the day, defending silver-medallist Gagan Narang signed off a disappointing seventh, while debutant Chain Singh finished fourth in the 50m rifle prone event at the Belmont Shooting Centre.
