Portugal football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is all set to break another record in his illustrious career as he is only a goal away from becoming only the sixth player in the history of the game to net 600 goals.

In the ongoing Euro 2020 qualifying tournament, Ronaldo netted one of the three goals for Portugal as they defeated Luxembourg 3-0 at the Jose Alvalade Stadium and moved to second place in Group B of the qualifiers.

Bernando Silva scored for the Portugal team in the 16th minute of the match and gave them the early lead. Despite further attempts, they failed to extend their lead in the first half. In the latter half, Cristiano Ronaldo doubled Portugal’s lead by scoring in the 65th minute of the match. With this goal, he took his goals tally to  699 career goals.

It was Goncalo Guedes’ third goal which helped Portugal take their score to 3-0 and inch closer to a secured birth in Euro 2020 next summer.
