Cristiano Ronaldo is ‘more mature’ now: Gonzalo Higuain

Praising his former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain said the Juventus star has matured since the two played last time together for the Meringues.

Notably, Juve striker Higuain and Ronaldo have reunited in Turin after the duo won three titles with La Liga giant Madrid before the former departed for Napoli in 2013. However, Ronaldo remained in the club till 2018 before signing for Juventus, whereas Higuain eventually joined Juventus in 2016.

“We had already played together with Real (Madrid),” Higuain told Fox Sports .

“Many years have passed, and I have found another player, a more mature person, with a family,” he said, adding, “I enjoyed playing alongside him before and I am glad that we are back together.”

Talking about his stint at Juventus where he is contracted until 2021, the Argentine professional said, “I have this year and next year left.

“I never close the door to anything. (At River Plate) there is a great coach and several team-mates of mine who I have a great affection for.

“The people of River were always spectacular with me. But hey, right now I’m trying to think in the present and enjoy my time here in Italian football.”

Talking about the ongoing Serie A season for Higuain, he has made five appearances and has one goal to his name for the reigning domestic champions.

Juventus, with 13 points, are currently at the second place in the table behind Inter Milan by 2 points.
