Marcus Rashford may be rubbing shoulders with modern-day greats at Manchester United, but the 20-year-old can still get star struck at times and that’s exactly what happened when Real Madrid icon Cristiano Ronaldo gifted him an autographed jersey of his.
CR7 signed the jersey with “To Marcus, keep up the good work,”scrawled across the back of the jersey, much to the delight of the United Academy graduate.
Ronaldo will be in action on Wednesday night as Real Madrid take on Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final at the Allianz Arena.
The 33-year-old Portuguese, the reigning Ballon d’Or holder, has come into his own yet again as the business end of the season approaches and considering the many similarities between his and Rashford’s career, especially in the early stages, United fans will hope the Englishman can go on to emulate the legendary No.7.

Ronaldo burst on to the scene while at United as a teenager, not unlike Rashford, and when he departed the club for Real Madrid in 2009, he had written himself into United folklore, having won everything there was to win at the club and individual level during his time at Old Trafford.

Rashford’s found playing time hard to come by this season, however, with many media outlets claiming that he could be on his way out but the pace forward seemigngly shut down the rumours with an Instagram post after United’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in their FA Cup semi-final.
Considering United’s inability to hold on to their biggest talents of late, the Red Devils faithful are hopeful Rashford will remain at the club for the next decade or so, rather than moving on towards greener pastures.
