The mood in the Chelsea camp is already sky high with the summer arrivals of Jorginho and Maurizio Sarri, but the Blues were given not one, but two reasons to cheer for as forward Alvaro Morata became a father to twin boys with wife Alice Campello.
Morata, 25, flew to Spain to be with his wife for the birth of his child while the rest of his teammates amp up their pre-season training in nearby France.
Chelsea’s record signing, Morata married long-term girlfriend Campello last year and his latest Instagram post confirmed the good news:
The post, when translated, reads: “And the day came… July 29, 2018, a day I’ll never forget. The wait has been long, very long. It’s been only nine months but for us it’s been like three years. I have no words to thank you Alice, thank for giving me the most beautiful and amazing gift in the world.
Every day since I know you I thank god for putting you in my way, you are the cornerstone of my life. These months you fought like a lioness, I cannot be more proud of you; nights in hospital, dehydrated days, whole days together in bed without power or moving…but in the end came the day, arrived and everything was worth it.
Welcome to the world Alessandro and Leonardo. I only ask you to have health and be happy with the love that breathes in our house, in our family. Finally I want to thank doctor from here and from there who have helped us in these months so hard, and especially to all people who work at Dell ‘Angelo hospital for all their kindness and sensitivity.”

Chelsea face Arsenal on Thursday morning but it is highly unlikely Morata will take part in the tie against the Gunners.
The lanky Spaniard is expected, however, to lead the line for Sarri’s men when they face Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday.

Morata’s future at the club is uncertain, with the club said to be considering a move for Juventus forward Gonzalo Higuain but Sarri has reportedly assured the Spaniard that he’s his first-choice striker for the 2018/19 season.
After signing from Real Madrid for a club-record fee of £60 million, Morata faded out following a bright start and eventually lost his place to January signing Olivier Giroud.
