BSSA announces the first-ever Bihar State eSports Open Championship

The Bihar State Sports Authority (BSSA) has announced that it will hold the country’s first-ever eSports LAN tournament, which will help eSports gain national traction. The historic eSports event, which will showcase the perfect combination of skill and technology, is expected to bring together gamers and esports enthusiasts from all over the state in the rapidly growing world of competitive gaming.
In addition, the gaming industry was merged with traditional sports in 2022 under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs because of its explosive growth. The Bihar government announced the first-ever open esports championship in the state, going one step further.
This is a state championship that will be held from December 7 to December 28, 2023. This inaugural eSports grand finale will be held on LAN at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Kankarbagh, Patna. The registration phase, the online phase, and the grand finals are the three stages of this eSports competition.
While championship registration started on December 7, it will be available until December 14. From December 16 to 22, the online phase will be available, and the grand final will take place on December 28. The BSSA used social media to declare the competition.
This is an excellent project by the Bihar Sports Authority, and it is a continuation of other government agencies’ recent national initiatives of a similar nature.
Meghalaya Tourism and Mutation Esports are teaming up to organize Odyssey 2023, a gaming festival that will include a Call of Duty (COD) mobile competition involving international teams.

As part of its new sports policy, the Uttar Pradesh government is strongly promoting esports and has inked an agreement with Garena to host international competitions.
