The Board of Control for Cricket in India will review the performance of the Indian team at the T20 world cup held in Australia earlier this year. Reportedly, head coach Rahul Dravid, Captain Rohit Sharma and NCA chief VVS Laxman are expected to be a part of the review meeting.
Notably, team India was thrashed by England registering a dominant 10 wickets win in the semi-finals of t20 world cup. With this India’s wait for winning a trophy in an ICC event still continues.
India last won a trophy at an ICC event in 2013 under the captaincy of legendary cricketer MS Dhoni which was a Champions Trophy. Ever since 2013, India has been getting knocked out at the crucial stages of the tournament.
After India’s defeat in the 2022 T20i World Cup, the selection panel led by Chetan Sharma was sacked.
The Cricket Advisory Committee that was formed earlier this month, met in Mumbai on Friday to shortlist the list of candidates for the selectors’ posts.
What comes as a surprise is former selectors Chetan Sharma and Harvinder Singh have reapplied for the post. Others who have applied include former India wicketkeeper Nayan Mongia and legendary pacer Venkatesh Prasad.
