Shah Rukh Khan, who played the role of a vertically-challenged man in his latest film, Zero, now desires to essay the role of Indian Cricket captain Virat Kohli.

The 53-year-old actor is currently being showered with praises by his fans and critics for opting for the character. SRK believes he looked like the Indian skipper in his film Harry Met Sejal.

In a recent interview with Times Now, he was asked which cricketer’s role he would play if given a chance.

“Virat,” he promptly responded.

SRK’s Zero co-actor Anushka Sharma, who is also the wife of cricketer Virat Kohli, smiled when she heard the reply.

“But you will have to grow a beard,” she added.

“But I had grown a beard. In Harry Met Sejal, I looked just like Virat Kohli. Exactly like him. Katrina, because she looks just like Anushka and I look just like Virat,” Shah Rukh said.

Meanwhile, Kohli couldn’t hold back from praising his wife, Anushka, for her performance in Zero, which is said to be her career’s best.

On 23 December, he wrote on Twitter, “Saw @Zero21Dec and loved the entertainment it brought. I enjoyed myself. Everyone played their parts well. Loved @AnushkaSharma performance because I felt it was a very challenging role and she was outstanding.”

The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Colour Yellow Productions, and Gauri Khan. Starring Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan, Zero hit the screens on 21 December 2018.
