After scoring on his Arsenal debut, club-record signing Alexandre Lacazette thanked his teammate Alex Iwobi for the assist in the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Sydney FC.
The French forward uploaded an image of the duo celebrating the goal on his Instagram profile with the caption: “1st Game 1st Goal.. Thank you @alexanderiwobi for the Assist #AL9 #ArsenalInSydney #COYG".
Lacazette was introduced in the second-half and didn't take long to get off the mark, applying a cool finish to Iwobi’s cut-back after the winger had sprinted a good distance on the right wing to set up the goal.
The 26-year-old last week became the most expensive signing in the history of the club, with Arsenal paying Ligue 1 side Lyon £46.5 million to acquire the services of the speedy Frenchman.
And the forward seems to be hitting all the right notes, a fact that will go down well with the Gunners faithful. While it is too early to tell, it seems the 26-year-old will be a big hit in North London!
