The standby captain of the South African cricket team, Aiden Markram, praised Indian spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav for their world class bowling in the third ODI, which India won by 124 runs at Newlands in Cape Town.

Aiden Markram, in his post-match presentation, shared his disappointment and said, “Very disappointing. Yet again not up to the mark. Virat played beautifully and their spinners played a massive part again.”

Though the Proteas skipper, along with star all-rounder JP Duminy, put up a partnership of 75 runs in 15 overs for the second wicket and later David Miller and Khaya Zondo showed some resistance but the hosts failed to negotiate the Indian spinners.

“We managed to claw our way back. But they are world class spinners. Our batsmen are struggling to pick their spinners even after three games. They are landing the ball in the right areas more often than not,” Aiden Markram added.

Meanwhile, AB de Villers, who is also commonly known as Mr 360 due to his ability to hit a six anywhere in the ground, is expected to make a comeback in the fourth ODI and Markram believes this would serve as an inspiration for the team.

“Credit to them. If ABD would be back, it might serve as a massive inspiration.”
