Veteran Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif recalled being called a ‘bus driver’ by former England skipper Nasser Hussain at the finals of 2002 NatWest trophy.

Mohammad Kaif was answering the questions asked by his fans during #ASKKaif session on micro-blogging site, Twitter on Tuesday.

When a fan asked Kaif if there was any sledding during the Natwest final? Kaif revealed the incident involving Hussain.

“@MohammadKaif Hi kaif, what you and Yuvi were talking during Natwest Final? Was their any sledging from English players ?#AskKaif,” a fan wrote.

Responding to the question, Kaif wrote, “Yes, Nasser Hussain actually called me a Bus driver 🙂 was good to take them for a ride!”.

The incident had happened in 2002 during the final of Natwest Trophy between India and England at the Lord’s stadium.

England team had batted first and scored 325 runs for five wickets in their allotted fifty overs. The target of more than 300 runs at the time was considered impossible chase.

Following the target, then skipper Sourav Ganguly and Sehwag gave a good start to India but soon Ganguly was sent back to the pavilion.

However, later Mohammed Kaif and legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh had guided India in winning the trophy.

Hussain was so frustrated with this fact that he called Kaif a bus driver when they were on the ground.
