India opted to bat after winning the toss against South Africa in the 4th One Day International (ODI) match at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, on Saturday.
The Proteas team will aim to bounce back after their defeat in the first three ODI against India by 6 wickets, 9 wickets and 124 runs, respectively.
Talking about India’s spin duo Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav ahead of the fourth ODI, India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun said, “There are at times when bowlers have to be defensive when batsmen are on top. But I think these bowlers [wrist spinners] have really understood their roles and the conditions well. I can only say they’ve performed exceptionally well.”
Saturday’s match will decide the series in India’s favour if Proteas loses the match. South African player Chris Morris said, “Obviously it’s do or die for us now. If we lose one more, that’s the series gone. So we’ll be fighting for every single ball, every single run out there. Yes, there’s lot of pressure but what’s cricket without pressure? It’s boring.”
India leads the six-match ODI series with 3-0.
