Bollywood actress Disha Patani might be just two films old — MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and Baaghi 2 — but the actress already has earned a name for herself in the tinsel town.

On Friday, the gorgeous actress walked the ramp for ace designer Tarun Tahiliani, who showcased his latest collection at the ongoing Blender’s Pride Fashion Tour held in Gurugram.

Being the showstopper of the show, Disha opted for a black and beige lehenga featuring heavy embellishements. Her outfit was teamed with a matching sheer lehenga that had floral work on it and a fringed hemline.

In an interview to thestatesman.com before the event, the actress talked about Tarun Tahiliani’s creations and her interest in digital media.

Excerpts:

Tell us about the new concept of Pride at the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2018

The new concept is ‘Pride’, which means a positive sense of self-achievement. It means pride that is derived from an inner sense of achievement, from uniqueness and from one’s individuality. Pride that comes from one’s distinct tale of success.

What does Pride means to you?

For me, Pride is a positive sense of self-achievement. I come from a small town in UP and I have made a mark for myself, hence my journey is my source of my pride. I feel proud of the work I do.

Who are the designers or labels you want to add to your wardrobe?

For me, definitely Tarun Tahiliani’s creation would be there. And apart from his if I have choose from the fashion world in industry it would be Falguni and Shane Peacock.

Today’s youth look up to you as fitness icon, so what’s your mantra of staying fit?

Is that so? For me, it’s just that I like to stay fit and energetic at the same time. And heading to gym is a must for me. As it gives to a self-confident mode to stay what I am.

What’s your take on Tarun Tahiliani’s creations?

I have always loved Tarun’s designs since I was a child. He has been creating since I was I think 7 years old. The concept for tonight at Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2018 is ‘My Blend, My Pride’. And I feel that his collection is a blend of the east and the west, its Indian craft with an edge to it.  It’s the ‘India Modern Experience’.  Its historical opulence mixed with contemporary whim. He is showcasing 50 unique looks today, and I am very excited to wear his outfit and walk for him.
