Ingredients

Maida: 2 cups

Powdered sugar: 2 cups

Cocoa powder: 1 tsp

Butter (softened): ¾ cup

Baking powder: 1 ½ tsp

Vanilla essence: 1 ½ tsp

Dark chocolate: 90 grams

Walnuts: ¼ cup (chopped)

Milk: 1 cup

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a rectangular cake pan.  Mix together flour, baking powder and cocoa powder. Set aside. In a large bowl, beat butter, eggs and vanilla essence. Gradually add sugar. Beat on medium to high speed for about 3-4 minutes until well mixed. Alternatively combine in flour mixture and milk while beating. Continue to beat until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter in the greased and floured cake pan. Bake 30-40 minutes. Check with a toothpick to see, if it is done. Bake a few minutes more if required.  Remove from oven and allow it to cool in the pan for a few minutes. Place brownie on a wire rack and let it cool completely. You can finish with a drizzle of chocolate syrup, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream to jazz up this brownie hero. Who could resist it?

Now you don’t need to sacrifice its rich flavour if you are short on time too. This five-star recipe is bustling with chocolaty sweetness and sponginess despite the fact that you can plate it up in 30-45 minutes. You will be amazed that something so rich and delicate came from your oven. This brownie uses dark chocolate and brings out the depth of flavour in the cocoa. Serve it with hot coffee or chilled vanilla ice cream topped with hot chocolate. It is really a mind blowing dessert!
