Enchanté Patisserie: Drool over these desserts without guilt

The combination of flour and sugar gives a good high feel, and when it comes to desserts, it’s just the right amount of sugar and chocolate that we need.

With multiple patisseries and new brands coming up, the urban India is spoilt for choice. For the people of Delhi, the newest dessert hotspot is in Khan Market — Enchanté Patisserie, an Academy of Pastry Arts venture.

With so many fusions of unique desserts,  Enchanté comes across as a luxurious option, offering a world of pastries, cakes, cookies and more. From slurpy macrons to decadent cheese mousse, the exclusive first-of-its-kind store covers all.

When I landed up at the small store, it was difficult for me to zero in on what to try. I won’t want you to go through the same dilemma. So, let me give you a sweet ride of the goodies on offer.

I went for the Chocolate Carmel Finger first. It had the right amount of caramel chocolate surrounded with intense chocolate mousse and covered with chocolate glaze. It melts in the mouth, and you may want another helping.

But don’t overfeed yourself yet for there are more unique stuff to try out. A highly recommended item is Enchanté signature La Mandarin, the sweet pot with perfect fusion of chocolate and orange. The milk chocolate mousse with chocolate almond sponge and a crispy base is not loaded with sugar but will definitely give you a high.

To complement the sweet joyride, do have a cup of coffee. The caffeine from the freshly grounded beans goes well with the complementary Biscotti. The super-thin and crispy Italian cookie loaded with cranberries and almonds ensures you don’t stop at one. Yes, you guessed it right. It’s a trap and it’s unlikely you won’t fall in it. You can buy the biscottis for Rs 25 apiece. A pack of 15 will come for 350.

If you are a sweetaholic, Blueberry Cheesecake macrons are for you. They have the perfect combination of Blueberry jam with cream cheese. Tiramisu Revisited is another must-try. Loved by most cocoa lovers, it’s a combination of coffee syrup soaked sponge cake with a mascarpone cheese mousse finished with milk chocolate.

Enchanté Patisserie also serves Blue Berry Dream, a multi layered mousse-based cake. The strawberry jelly with cream cheese moist blueberry sponge is creamy and the cherry on the top is a blueberry macron.

Also on the offer are different types of chocolates. I went for the Raspberry Star Anise. Cookies And Cream is a crunchy cookie with a creamy ganache. Black Forest with all the right flavours, the rich and nutty Hazelnut Truffle and the fruity Orange Praline make good gift-pack options.

Those working at the bakery are all trained at the Academy of Pastry Arts that has a pan-Asia presence with units in Malaysia, Philippines, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore. The word of mouth is spreading, and the elite crowd that flocks the upmarket shopping arcade actually finds the rates cheaper.

You should hence hurry up before the prices shoot up to match the “Khan Market rates”.
