On Eid, it’s obvious that your sweet tooth comes a knock in. Dish up the delicious Plum Kheer that strikes your fancy. This delicious dessert recipe is sure to please everyone on this special festival. It will make you feel like heaven during festivity. Knowing how to make this sweet dish at home is really exciting.
Serves: 5, Preparation time: 30 minutes, Cooking time: 60 minutes
Ingredients:
Plums 15
Full cream milk 1 litre
Rice 1 handful
Sugar 10 tbsp
Pistachios 10-15
Green cardamom 2
Chirongi 20
Method:
Wash and soak rice for an hour.
Wash chirongi, chop pistachios and crush green cardamom.
Blend plums to puree and sieve.
Heat a non-stick pan. Cook the puree adding 6 tbsp sugar for 15 minutes or till it thickens.
Add soaked rice (draining water), chirongi, crushed cardamom and chopped pistachios in milk and give a boil. Simmer it for an hour on low flame. Stir frequently.
Add 4 tbsp of sugar. Stir for 10 minutes more on low flame.
Turn off the flame and let the kheer cool.
Mix well plum puree in kheer and chill it in refrigerator for few hours.
Serve chilled. Garnish with few plum wedges.
