In a bizarre incident, a delivery guy of Zomato walked away with a beagle dog belonging to a couple in Pune on Monday.
The owner of the dog, Vandana Shah posted about the incident on Twitter where she said that the incident happened on Monday around noon when she found that her dog named Dottu went missing from Karve Road.
According to the CCTV footage, Dottu was last seen playing and roaming inside the premises of her home-cum-factory complex before he went missing. Vandana started a hunt for her dog after he was untraceable for many hours. She along with her husband started searching for their pet in the neighbourhood but failed to trace him.
The couple approached the police who assured them about looking into the matter. Meanwhile, Vandana said that on enquiring from a few food delivery guys at an eatery nearby, one of them recognised their pet and said that it was taken away by their colleague. She also managed to get the picture of the delivery guy with the dog, who was identified as Tushar.
“We took his contact number and asked him about Dottu. Tushar confessed to having picked him up but when we asked him to return the dog, he started making up excuses and said that he had sent him to his village,” she said.
“We also offered him money in exchange for our beagle but he kept on giving us evasive answers and for the last few hours, he has switched off his cell phone,” she added.
