Aanand L Rai’s Zero, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, and Katrina Kaif, has landed in trouble for hurting Sikh sentiments.

Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa filed a complaint on Monday.

In his complaint filed with the SHO, Manjinder alleged that Shah Rukh Khan has been shown wearing ‘Gatra Kirpan’ in the promo of the film and that the poster of the film has created an outrage in the community.

The complaint reads, “You are requested to lodge FIR against the movie director Aanand L Rai and film actor Shah Rukh Khan. You are also requested to immediately stop the promo of the Zero movie showing actor Shah Rukh Khan wearing Gatra Kirpan.”

Singh also requested the director to remove the objectionable scenes, failing which the Sikh community will stage protests at theatres to stop the film’s screening.

The film marks the second collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma after Jab Tak Hai Jaan. The trailer, which was released on Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday 2nd November, has so far received an outstanding response from the entertainment industry and audiences.

The film will hit the screens on 21 December 2018.
