Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday pulled up the Yogi Adityanath Government on various issues while replying to the debate on the budget in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.

He said whether the budget is Rs 7 lakh crore or Rs 8 lakh crore, the biggest question is what it is for 90 per cent of the people of the state.

The leader of the Opposition in the assembly said on the big size of the budget, what if it becomes big, like a palm tree, it does not provide shade to the birds, the fruits grow very far away.

On this occasion, he said every time the government presents the biggest budget but is unable to spend it.

Yadav, while hitting out at the BJP said that those who say they have brought Ram were insulting lord. “By saying this you are insulting religion and Lord Shri Ram because God is always there and no one can bring him. He said the insult to Lord Shri Ram should be stopped.

Praising Chief Minister Yogi, he said that the Chief Minister continuously visited Ayodhya for the Pran Pratishtha program but when the time came, he disappeared from focus and the CM was not even seen on the red carpet.

Yadav claimed that proper compensation had not been given for the lands taken for the development in Ayodhya. “The local people there stood in Saryu and took an oath on their sacred thread that they would not vote for the BJP. We demand that the government should give proper compensation to the people whose land was acquired in Ayodhya,” he demanded.

The SP president alleged there had been fraud in the purchase and sale of lands in Ayodhya. The government should make all the land registries public.

In a clarification on his visit to the holy city, Akhilesh Yadav said,” I will not go to Ayodhya at the behest of the government. When Lord Shri Ram calls me, I will go to Ayodhya with my family.”
