Venugopal reconciles Gehlot and Pilot ahead of Bharat Jodo Yatra

In an effort to unite the Congress party ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s entry into Rajasthan with the Bharat Jodo Yatra on December 3, AICC General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP K C Venugopal on Tuesday talked to both Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot who have been at loggerheads for the last more than one year.

Holding hands of both Gehlot and Pilot along with the PCC President Govind Singh Dotasara, Venugopal said, “this is the Rajasthan Congress. We are completely united”. All of them waved their hands and smiled for a media coverage.

It was the first time after the ‘traitor’ controversy struck by Gehlot last week, both of them look at each other, posed for Namestai, and sit very close on the round table at the PCC office which was called to review the preparation for the party yatra from Jhalawar to Kota.

Venugopal said Pilot and Gehlot have agreed to work unitedly a day after Rahul Gandhi called both of them the asset of the party.

“Hum sab ne milkar baat ki hai, hum sab ek hain (We all talked together, we are united and one. Rahulji has already said we are the Congress assets. Not only us, everyone in the party is an asset. “, Gehlot told media outside the party office.

“When Rahul Gandhi said both the leaders are assets, they are assets. There is nothing left to say in this, after that they have said then what is the discussion left about”, Gehlot said.

Pilot said, “We will not get provoked anymore. RaGa’s yatra in Rajasthan would be a memorable feet and historic one. Everyone would be linked with it besides workers and leaders”.

Notably, in a special TV news channel (NDTV), whose clippings went viral on social media, Gehlot called Pilot a ‘gaddar’ (traitor).

“No person shall be so insecure and if we do not remain united then how will we win the next assembly polls. Even before today, Gehlot ji spoke many things about me, rejected me and called me “nakkara and Nikkama (worthless). I want to say that there is no need to make such statements”.
