Uttarakhand CM meets foreign diplomats, invites them for investors summit

After meeting industrialists in Mumbai recently, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was in New Delhi to campaign for the forthcoming investors’ meet to be held in the hill state.
Under the ‘Uttarakhand Investor Summit,’ being organised to explore the investment opportunities in Uttarakhand, Rawat, his cabinet colleagues and senior officials, met the ambassadors and high commissioners of different countries in New Delhi on Thursday.
Principal Secretary Manisha Panwar highlighted the achievements and opportunities in the state through a detailed presentation. Rawat said, “There is a favorable environment for investment in Uttarakhand. For the entrepreneurs and investors, the environment of friendliness has been prepared with effective policy making by the Uttarakhand government. We are ready to move ahead with the entrepreneurs.”
The CM said Delhi has 35 minutes of air travel distance from Dehradun. “The rail, road and air connectivity is excellent. The hill state is enriched with adequate power and water, skilled human resources, education and technical education.
Positive and supportive atmosphere exists in Uttarakhand and a 15-day deadline has been set for the approval of any enterprise.” Rawat invited everyone to Dehradun on 7-8 October.
Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh said, “There is a possibility of investment in power sector. Uttarakhand is the hub of education and quality education is the identity of the state. In the field of IT, Pharma, Herbal and Ayush, there is great scope for investment.”
Ambassadors and high commissioners of 45 countries participated in the programme. These include Angola, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Lesotho, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, Zimbabwe, Mali, Southern Sudan, Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Russia, Malta, Iceland, Macedonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Japan, Papua New Guinea, Oman, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Mission League of the Arab countries, Israel, El Salvador, Guyana, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, France, Belgium and Germany.
