Uttar Pradesh on Thursday joined the nation in celebrating the 74th Republic Day with full enthusiasm and fervour amid elaborate and tight security arrangements.
The main function was held in front of the Vidhan Bhawan here in the state capital where Governor Anandiben Patel in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unfurled the national flag and took the salute of the passing contingent of the Army, central armed forces, state police and school children.
Students of different schools also presented colourful presentations. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with his Cabinet colleagues and state officials were also present on the occasion. The tableaux of state departments and schools marked the occasion.
Army displayed modern tanks and other arms and ammunition during the parade. Choppers also sprayed flower petals on the parade near the Vidhan Bhawan. The national flag was also unfurled at all government offices and that of political parties in the state capital.
Governor Anandiben Patel unfurled the national flag at the Raj Bhavan and Chief Minister Yogi his official residence before attending the main function. The UP Governor, CM, Ministers and political leaders wished the people of the state on the occasion of the 74th Republic Day.
