Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh attended the Kisan Mahakumbh organized by the BJP Kisan Morcha at the historic Science College Ground here on Saturday. He was welcomed by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, accompanied by Deputy CMs Arun Saw and Vijay Sharma.
In his address, Singh lauded Prime Minister Modi’s diplomatic finesse, revealing how PM Modi’s intervention led to a 4.5-hour ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. This ceasefire facilitated the safe evacuation of approximately 25 thousand Indian students from the tumultuous region, underscoring India’s commitment to its citizens’ welfare on the global stage.
Singh pivoted to the crucial realm of agricultural reforms, juxtaposing the recent union budget for agriculture with that of the Congress government in 2014. In a scathing critique of the Congress’s neglect, Singh proclaimed a fivefold increase in budget allocation for farmers under the Modi government since 2014. He also announced the forthcoming provision of free electricity up to 300 units for farmers.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to engage with farmers, Singh celebrated Chhattisgarh’s swift return to the path of development within 100 days under the BJP government. He candidly condemned the alleged corruption during the Congress tenure and expressed unwavering confidence in Chhattisgarh’s rapid progress under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
In a poignant reflection of his rural roots, Singh underscored Chhattisgarh’s pivotal role as a stronghold of farmers, affirming the BJP’s steadfast commitment to reshaping the state’s destiny. He emphasized the intrinsic value of farmers in wealth creation and reiterated PM Modi’s unwavering commitment to uplift rural communities.
The Defense Minister extolled Prime Minister Modi’s transformative policies, highlighting their profound impact in uplifting 25 crore people out of poverty. Singh pledged comprehensive access to permanent housing and piped water supply under Modi’s visionary leadership, alongside the provision of soil health cards to farmers in Chhattisgarh.
Singh assured farmers of government support in mitigating the fertilizer prices and lauded Modi’s visionary initiatives to bolster the agricultural sector. He promised the provision of solar lights and free electricity up to 300 units for farmers, reaffirming rapid fulfillment under the double engine government in Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai echoed Singh’s sentiments, championing the BJP as the unequivocal voice of farmers. Sai outlined a plethora of measures undertaken by the BJP to augment farmers’ income, emphasizing the government’s unwavering commitment to the dignity of mothers and sisters.
Rajnath Singh’s visit to Chhattisgarh could be significant in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. His meeting with former Chief Minister and Speaker Dr Raman Singh indicates the importance of his presence in shaping the electoral landscape. However, the electoral benefits for the BJP from Rajnath Singh’s visit to Chhattisgarh will only become clear after the Lok Sabha election results are announced.
