About two crore worshippers took a holy bath in the Sangam (confluence of rivers) to celebrate Mauni Amavasya in Prayagraj. Hashtag #Mauni Amavasya pushpvarsha continued to be a top trending topic on Twitter.

Twitter users were all praise for the preparations made by the Yogi Adityanath Administration in Uttar Pradesh for the auspicious occasion. They were especially impressed by the helicopter-dropped flower petals on the pilgrims who took the sacred bath.

During the current Magh Mela in the Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, more than 1.5 crore pilgrims participated in the bathing ritual in the Sangam to seek redemption on the festive occasion of Mauni Amavasya.

The Yogi Adityanath Government sprinkled flower petals as a mark of respect for the pilgrims, igniting the fervour of the faithful. More than 12 bathing ghats were constructed on the banks of Sangam, the meeting place of the holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati, where worshippers were peacefully bathing for their salvation. 194 magistrates and 98 sector officers were employed to oversee the arrangements at the Magh Mela, which covers a 700-acre region.

The hashtag was seen by more than 14 crore people. More than 10,000 people simultaneously applauded Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership and flower-showering with the hashtag. Additionally, through likes, comments, and retweets, more than 19,000 individuals supported this initiative of the Yogi Government.
