TMC MPs met protesting farmers at Khanauri border


A five-member delegation of TMC MPs on the instructions of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday met protesting farmers at Data Singhwala-Khanauri border and assured them that they will continue to be their voice in the Parliament.

The protesting farmers said they will send their ‘demand chart’ to the newly-formed NDA Government.

Talking to media persons after interacting with the protesting farmers, TMC Rajya Sabha member Sagarika Ghose said: “We stand with the farmers. Mamata Banerjee has always agitated for the farmers.We will continue to raise the issue of farmers.”

“The Modi Government lies, Modi Government gives false assurances…Anna data is the Annadatas of our country. We are able to have food because farmers work, they are providing us with food grains…I would say that the Modi Government should apologise (to farmers),” she added.

In a post on X, the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) said: “We stand with our Annadatas! On the instructions of Smt. @MamataOfficial, a 5-member delegation team of our Rajya Sabha MPs, Shri @derekobrienmp, Shri @MdNadimulHaque6, Smt. @Dolasen7, Smt. @sagarikaghose and Shri @SaketGokhale, visited Khanauri border in Haryana to meet protesting farmers and support their movement against Kisan-Birodhi @BJP4India.”

In another post on X, the AITC said: “A 5-member delegation of our Rajya Sabha MPs visited the Khanauri border and interacted with protesting farmers. The farmers, enduring months of hardship, shared their harrowing experiences and highlighted how the Kisan-Virodhi Modi Govt at the Centre has betrayed their aspirations and resorted to brutal repression. Our women MPs stood in full solidarity with the women farmers, reaffirming our support for their cause against this oppressive regime.”

In another post on X, the AITC said, “A 5-member delegation of our Rajya Sabha MPs visited Khanauri border in Haryana and met with the protesting farmers. They assured our Annadatas that we will continue to be their voice in Parliament against the Krishak-Birodhi Modi Sarkar that has turned MSP into ‘Maximum Suffering of the Producer,’ crushing the very backbone of our nation.”
