Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched a scathing attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi over farmer protest, saying those who spread nails in the path of farmers should be thrown out of the government.
As many as 200 farmers’ unions have given a “Delhi Chalo” protest march call on February 13 over several demands, including the MSP guarantee.
However, in order to stop the farmers from reaching Delhi, the BJP government in Haryana have sealed it’s border with Punjab with barricading and spread nails on their path.
“Those who spread nails in the path of farmers are not worthy of trust, uproot them from Delhi, Congress will provide justice and profit to the farmers,” Gandhi said.
The Gandhi scion further accused Modi of “cultivating lies” and “cheating” the farmers.
“Modi, who ‘cultivates lies’ day and night, has only cheated the farmers in the last 10 years. By promising double the income, Modi also made the farmers yearn for MSP,” he said.
Gandhi also claimed that farmers’ debt has increased 60 per cent due to not getting fair prices for their crops and as a result, about 30 farmers lost their lives everyday.
“The one whose USP is deception, can only do politics with the farmers in the name of MSP, not justice,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Congress party has accused the Modi government of treating the country’s food providers like criminals and spread nails in their path.
“Farmers, who are upset with the injustice of Modi government, are coming to Delhi. As soon as the Modi government got wind of this, nails were placed on the path of the farmers. The path was blocked with stones. BJP government has shut down internet in many districts of Haryana. Our food providers are being treated like criminals,” the Congress wrote on ‘X’.
