RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Union Minister Giriraj Singh once again attacked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar after they tainted guns at the CM over flooding in Patna earlier this month. This time the state government and Kumar came under scanner over the law and order situation in the state.
Giriraj Singh took to Twitter (in Hindi), and said, Crime in Begusarai at its peak. The condition is so bad that by the time I met one victim of shooting, by that time another person is killed. In the past 72 hours 10 people have been shot at, in which 7 died. In Bajalpura, Teghra, I met victim Sujits’s family.”
He further said, “This can’t go on. Will talk to the senior police officers, today.”

RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav too tweeted on the law and order situation in the state. He said (in Hindi), “In Bihar, criminals, rapists, mafias, demons and bad administrators are ruling the good governance state. Chief Minister ji, reign in the state supported criminals.
He even demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister, and said, “This is too much. If you can’t administer the state properly then resign.”
Though BJP is part of the coalition government, Giriraj Singh is a frequent a frequent critic of Nitish Kumar. The Begusarai killing gave Singh some more ammunition to corner the JD(U) partner in the government.
It turned out to be a bloody Diwali in Bihar with as many as eight people, including three members of a family and kin of an opposition RJD leader, getting killed in separate incidents on Sunday night. This happened amid claims by the police of the ruling Nitish Kumar government that they were on maximum alert to ensure a peaceful “festival of light”.
Bihar has seen a rise in crime in recent days including and the gang-rape of a woman.
