Telangana: Don’t pay power bills, says KTR

Former Industry Minister and BRS working president KT Rama Rao has urged the people of Telangana not to pay their power bills for the month of January till the Congress led state government implements the promised Gruha Jyothi Scheme under which each household will get 200 units of free electricity.

He also said that after the Lok Sabha elections, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will become another Eknath Shinde and the Telangana Congress will merge with the BJP.
Rao, popularly known as KTR, launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, particularly against the Chief Minister after Revanth Reddy said that the Congress was ready to dig a 100-metre deep grave to bury the BRS party by defeating it in the upcoming Parliamentary elections.

He was speaking at a gathering of the London based Telangana NRI community. Attacking KCR, he said the Congress was waiting for him to come out with the trap laid out to capture the tiger.

Addressing a party meeting for the leaders of Hyderabad and Secunderabad constituencies, KTR demanded that promises made by the Congress should be fulfilled within 100 days.

“Don’t pay January month’s power bill, till the Gruha Jyothi promise is fulfilled. Show the video of the chief minister’s promise if anyone asks you to pay the bills. Send the copies of the bills to 10 Janpath, Sonia Gandhi’s residence,” said KTR, adding that households should get free electricity under Griha Jyothi for every meter, even tenants.

He further slammed the Chief Minister saying that instead of digging a 100-meter deep grave for the BRS he should focus on fulfilling the promises made to the people within 100 days.

The BRS leader also accused the Congress and the BJP of planning a merger after Lok Sabha elections. He said Revanth Reddy would turn out to be Eknath Shinde of the Congress.

He criticised Reddy for meeting Gautam Adani at Davos even though Rahul Gandhi spoke against him.

“Previously Revanth Reddy attacked Adani but now he is shaking hands with him at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. Revanth Reddy earlier said Adani and Pradeshani were double engines and now it has become a triple engine.”

He warned that Revanth Reddy had turned out to be “Mini Modi” of Telangana and shared the same lineage as the BJP.

Rao also ruled out any alliance between the BJP and the BRS. Attacking Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, he wondered what he did for Telangana.
