Swapna Suresh, prime accused in the gold smuggling case, on Saturday said that the Karnataka Police have registered a case against Vijesh Pillai, the person who offered her Rs 30 crore to withdraw the allegations she leveled against Kerala chief minister and his family and leave the country.
The case, she said, was registered against Vijesh Pillai and asked, based on the complaint of death threat filed by her.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Swapna said the case was registered at Bengaluru KR Pura police station and that the police took her to the hotel where she met Vijesh Pillai and recorded her statement.
Stating that the hotel management informed the police that another person was also staying with Vijesh Pillai, she asked, “Who is that unknown person in the background.”
“Karnataka Police has swung into action after receiving my complaint. They registered a crime case against Vijesh Pillai, recorded my statement, took me to the hotel where Vijesh Pillai stayed and the meeting took place and collected evidence.”
