Sukma attack reflects ‘flawed policies’, says Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi claimed that “flawed policies” of the government is the reason why attacks such as the one at Sukma on Tuesday happen.

The Congress president wrote on Twitter: “The Maoist attack in Sukma, Chhattisgarh in which 9 CRPF jawans lost their lives is tragic. It reflects a deteriorating internal security situation due to flawed policies.

At least nine CRPF personnel were killed and three others injured when Maoists blew up an anti-landmine vehicle using an improvised explosive device (IED) in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.

A heavy exchange of fire between the security forces and the Maoists followed immediately after the blast.

The CRPF personnel were on a routine patrolling in Palodi of Kishtaram area in Sukma district when their vehicle was attacked by Naxalites at around 11 am. The injured jawans had been airlifted to Raipur.
