Indian soldier injured in Pakistani firing dies

A soldier who was injured in unprovoked Pakistani firing on Sunday along the LoC in Jammu & Kashmir’s Poonch district succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.

“Naik Jagadish was the resident of Uttarakhand and is survived by his wife and two children,” an army official said.

As per the official, Naik Jagadish sustained grievous injuries. He was instantly evacuated and provided intensive medical care in the Military Hospital.

The death toll in ceasefire violations by Pakistan army has gone up to 13 after Jagadish’s death.

“Pakistan had resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian Army posts at the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border,” the official said.

Earlier, seven civilians and five security personnel had succumbed to their injuries in recent Pakistani shelling and firing along on the LoC and the International Border.
