The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), which is probing Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter Veena Vijayan’s IT has sent a notice to Karakonam Somervell Memorial CSI medical college over its financial dealings with Exalogic Solutions.
The SFIO has reportedly got the documents pertaining to financial dealings of both institutions during the 2017–2018 financial year. SFIO has sought more information in connection with these documents.
Notice has reportedly been served to P Thankaraj, the then-administrator of the College. Now, he works for another institution under the CSI Church. SFIO has sought a copy of the MoU signed by Exalogic Solutions and Medical College, copies of work orders, invoices, and related documents
The Income Tax Interim Settlement Board (ITISB) had found that the Cochin based Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd,(CMRL) has paid 1.72.crore to Kerala CM’S daughter Veena Vijayan’s firm EXalogic Solutions without providing any service to them.
The Karnataka High Court has dismissed the plea filed by the IT firm owned by Veena Vijayan which sought to quash the SFIO probe into the alleged illegal transactions of the company.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs had on 31 January issued an order handing over the probe into the affairs of Exalogic Solutions, as well as Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd and Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation to SFIO. A six-member team has been authorised to probe the matter, with Deputy Director M Arun Prasad as the investigating officer.
